'Let it Out' Set Conquer The Fashion World With an inspiring, Unforgettable Story
EXCLUSIVE: EXCLUSIVE: Inside Let It Out — A drama short film exploring the intense pressure models face in the fashion world and how easily they can lose themselves to fit in. Starring Emma Victoria Dixon as Victoria Serena and Michael Loria as Alex Wellis, the film is produced by Dimas Films and directed by Luis Dimas Rivero.
Dimas Films and director Luis Dimas Rivero are back with a brand-new short film. This time, they bring an inspiring story with Let It Out—a film that promises to deliver a piece of true drama. The story follows Victoria, who has always dreamed of becoming a model. But as she tries to fit into the modeling world, she begins to lose herself, leaving her to decide who she truly is when the image fades. We met with the cast and director to discuss this inspiring story and their experiences on set. When speaking with director Luis Dimas Rivero, we asked what drove him to tell Victoria’s story and what he hopes audiences take away from the film."I wanted to do something different and inspiring," Dimas shared. "After we wrapped The Room, my heart told me I needed to talk about something more important: who you truly are. I always had the idea of using the modeling world as an example because so much effort goes into achieving that dream. But what if we look at someone before they’ve reached that goal? Every story is different, but I wanted Victoria's journey to have an element people could deeply relate to—discovering who you are versus who you want to be. I hope the audience leaves questioning whether they are doing their best to become the person they want to be, and if they are truly working toward the goals they want to achieve."
Speaking with lead actress Emma Victoria Dixon, the conversation turned to the challenge of carrying the film’s emotional center."There can be a lot of pressure to 'get the emotion right' when you're leading a film," Dixon reflected. "With Victoria, I just wanted her to feel as real and grounded as possible. I drew from my own personal experiences—how I process emotions, how I relate to her struggle, and where the root of those feelings comes from."That connection to the character runs deep. Like Victoria, Dixon admits to carrying a similar internal drive: "Victoria puts so much weight on herself to live up to her dreams. I put that same pressure on myself—wanting to be good at something instantly and fearing rejection before I've even mastered it." Capturing that vulnerability proved to be her biggest challenge on camera. "The hardest part to get right? Showing that heavier, raw insecurity on screen."To shape Victoria's voice, Dixon worked closely with director Luis Dimas Rivero through extensive prep work. "We had a handful of Zoom sessions where we discussed all the nitty-gritty details of who Victoria is," she shared. "Luis has such a clear vision, but he gives you room to use your own instincts and creativity. It's a beautiful way to collaborate and builds so much trust on set."
When asked how the creative freedom at Dimas Films helped her push her boundaries as an artist, she added:"I think every actor would agree that making a bold choice and experimenting is ultimately what leads to a story unfolding beautifully. You have to take risks in this industry, which—in a world that doesn't like people stepping out of the box—can be very daunting. Working with Dimas Films, you're actually able to experiment and try things until it just sticks. There's also never any embarrassment, which I think just calms the mind and allows space to create with depth."Finally, on what it was like working with the rest of the team:"I knew most of the team beforehand, but it was such a fun experience working together on a set. Luis has such a great vision and truly carries such a passion for his ideas to come to life. Working with him was so much fun, and Michael is just so easy to get along with—constantly giggling and making you laugh, which makes for a fun day of filming!"
We also sat down with the film's co-star, Michael Loria, who plays Alex—Victoria's love interest in the film. He shared a little more about his process of bringing Alex to life:"Luis has a vision for the scene, but he was very open about shooting scenes with our ideas if we chimed in as well. I like that because the more creative we get, the more chance we have of getting good shots, and the freer we felt on set."Speaking about his experience on set, Michael highlighted the instant connection with the team:"I got lucky enough to be in an acting class with the crew! So I sort of knew them, which made it easy to have fun. I love everyone in the crew! It was very fun and down to earth."He also opened up about overcoming creative challenges together as a cast and crew:"It took us reshooting the scene, and the second time we actually did it better. We felt less stifled by the environment the second time around, letting us be much more free."
we asked both leads what they hope audiences feel or think about most after watching their performances in Let It Out.Emma Victoria Dixon:"I hope they feel somewhat inspired to continue moving towards their dream, even in the chaos of it all."Michael Loria:"To really go for it. Realize you have the power to do what you want, and fear and judgment and others' opinions are not really real—they are just commentary. The sooner you learn this, the sooner you will become you."
Finally, we asked the director if he was satisfied with the results and whether we can expect more inspiring films from him in the future. He shared:"I'm 100% satisfied with what we have done. I loved working with everyone on this project and am very grateful to Emma and Michael for helping bring life to these characters. There is definitely going to be more films like this in the future. For now, I'm working in different genres because I feel like, since I'm starting out as a filmmaker, this is the time where I can explore what fits me best to create more! Keep supporting us, because this is just the beginning."
